At Invitrolize, we develop advanced in vitro respiratory models to improve how respiratory safety risks are identified, understood, and managed. Our work supports better scientific decisions, more predictive testing strategies, and a transition toward human-relevant, non-animal approaches.
We are always interested in connecting with talented scientists and professionals who share our commitment to scientific rigor, innovation, and impact.
We welcome applications from professionals with backgrounds in areas such as in vitro toxicology and respiratory biology, cell culture and advanced in vitro models, pharmacology, toxicology or biomedical sciences.
Laboratory Technician
Job Description
Role Overview
The applicant will work within INVITROLIZE and support the activities in the cell culture laboratory by maintaining the laboratory but also the cell lines used in the various 3D in vitro models and support the research staff in other routine applications. To this end the successful candidate will perform all basic steps of cell culture independently and evaluate the effects of chemical exposure using established laboratory techniques (e.g. cell viability assays, ELISA, PCR, etc.).

Job Description
About INVITROLIZE
INVITROLIZE is a young and innovative biotech start-up delivering cutting-edge services to industry through advanced 3D in vitro models of the alveolar barrier. We partner with clients across multiple industrial sectors to assess the hazard of inhalable materials.
The Role
We are looking for a motivated Lab Engineer with a background in cell biology to join our growing team. The selected candidate will test inhalable materials using our 3D in vitro models and state-of-the-art exposure equipment. You will contribute to in-house pre-validation studies under laboratory conditions and subsequently apply these assays to a wide range of contaminants, including chemicals and nanomaterials.
Main Responsibilities
Design and perform experiments using our 3D in vitro models of the alveolar barrier
Analyse relevant biomarkers and prepare biological samples for downstream analysis
Apply biochemical and molecular biology methods to support experimental workflows
Contribute to the pre-validation and optimization of assays under laboratory conditions
Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately and rigorously
Collaborate with the team to interpret data and contribute to scientific reports or publications
Your Profile
Degree in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
Experience with in vitro cell culture techniques; knowledge of advanced multicellular or 3D in vitro models is a strong advantage
Familiarity with biochemical and molecular biology methods (e.g. ELISA, PCR, Western blot, microscopy)
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced start-up setting
